Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Andreas Forsland is the founder of Cognixion®, which is making the world more accessible with software that augments your ability to control mobile and AR applications, as well as systems like smart homes and third-party services with brainwave sensing wearables, eye-movement and facial recognition cameras. Use of AI is transformational for making these capabilities feel like a natural extension of ourselves.
Located in Santa Barbara and Toronto, Cognixion has been internationally recognized for its innovation and impact - and is scaling up its impact - specifically enabling speech-disabled individuals to communicate more naturally, as well as enhancing their mind and body, with the use of new AI-powered interfaces. They've won the prestigious Roddenberry Prize, the Thomas Edison Award for innovation, and the Singularity University Global Grand Challenge for Inclusive Access to Learning.
Prior to Cognixion, Andreas was Creative Director at Philips Design, a division of Royal Philips Electronics, where he helped create disruptive solutions across their healthcare, consumer lifestyle and lighting sectors in Europe and the Americas. Earlier, Andreas was involved with breakthrough technology that enables Progressive Insurance drivers to reduce their insurance rates based upon their good driving habits; the first interactive Apple tv; and web 1.0 while at IBM during the "e-business" days.
Today, Andreas is passionate about building companies that do well by doing good and figuring out how to make useful things accessible globally.
